On the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Crimean Tatar Genocide, a screening of documentary films dedicated to the tragic events of the Crimean Tatars deportation in 1944 was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs for its students and cadets.

While watching the films, the students learned about the history of the forced eviction of indigenous people, difficult trials of thousands of families and their struggle to preserve their culture, language and identity.

At the end, the young people honored the memory of the innocent victims of the genocide and expressed support for the Crimean Tatar people, who continue to fight for the right to live on their land in a free and independent Ukraine.
