The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, the only one among higher education institutions with specific learning conditions, took part in the strategic session “Integrity in Education: From Recommendations to Actions” of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention.
The delegation included: deputy dean for educational and research activities of the faculty of Law, Management and Economic Security Bohdana Semenyshyn-Fihol; associate professor of the department of State and Legal Disciplines and Public Administration Olena Bulhakova; commissioner for Anti-Corruption Activities Kateryna Udod; head of the cadet and student self-government, cadet of the faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units Sofia Tretiak.
They joined a discussion on issues related to new requirements for Universities, changes in management and educational processes, as well as regarding formation of a circle of participants for further pilot implementation of recommendations in cooperation with the expert team of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention.
The event took place as part of the Open Government Week, organized by the NACP jointly with the Anti-Corruption Headquarters supported by UNDP in Ukraine and the Government of Denmark.
The participants were welcomed by Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, Viktor Pavlushyk, Head of the policy development area of the UNDP in Ukraine, Rana El-Hudzheiri, and director general of the Directorate of Higher and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oleh Sharov. head of the secretariat of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Oleksandr Khymenko.
The speakers at the presentation panel “Recommendations for building integrity in higher education institutions: idea, meanings, priorities, challenges” were: head of the department of educational work and educational programs of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention Iryna Tymchenko; head of the board of the NGO “Anti-Corruption Headquarters” Serhii Mytkalyk; expert of the NGO “Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine” Anna Fedorenko.
The participants of the event admitted that through joint efforts, integrity turns to be not only the duty, but daily practice, which is an integral part of the values and standards of the DonSUIA educational community and Ukraine in general.
