The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs hosted an athletics championship among representatives of lyceums of security and national-patriotic education under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The competition was attended by representatives of the Yaroslav Kondratiev Kyiv Lyceum of Security and National Patriotic Education under the National Academy of Internal Affairs, the Oleksandr Hostishchev Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National Patriotic Education under the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, the Ivano-Frankivsk Lyceum of Security and National Patriotic Education under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Vinnytsia Lyceum of Security and National Patriotic Education under the Lviv State Life Security University, the Military Lyceum of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
At the beginning of the event, the participants performed the National Anthem of Ukraine and observed a minute of silence in memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our state.
Rector of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, police colonel Serhii Vitvitskyi addressed the athletes at the opening ceremony.
He emphasized that the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs is honored to host the best representatives of educational institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and wished everyone fair game, new acquaintances and unforgettable impressions.
The competitions were held in the individual and team standings at distances of 100, 400, 1000, 3000 meters, as well as in a combined relay of 100+200+300+400 meters.
Supported by their teammates, coaches and mentors, the athletes demonstrated high skills.
The team of the Military Lyceum of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine won the first place, the Yaroslav Kondratiev Kyiv Lyceum of Security and National Patriotic Education under the National Academy of Internal Affairs took the second place, and the Ivano-Frankivsk Lyceum of Security and National Patriotic Education under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine took the third place.
The DonSUIA rector Serhii Vitvitskyi presented the awards to the winners and prize-winners.
