The second day of work of the DonSUIA representatives at the Lund University (Lund, Kingdom of Sweden) within the frame of the UNICOM project (Erasmus+ program) continues.
The Lund University, whose history begins in 1425, is one of the oldest Universities in Northern Europe. It is among the 100 best Universities in the world, and its academic family includes 21,000 students and 6,000 staffers.
The DonSUIA delegation is represented by the first vice-rector Yehor Nazymko, the head of the international cooperation unit Viktoria Moskalenko, a senior inspector of this unit Yevheniia Drahomirova and the head of the research laboratory of communities’ public security Andrii Zakharchenko. Together with colleagues from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, representatives of European associations in Ukraine and working groups of other educational institutions – members of the consortium – they actively discussed the role of the third mission of the Universities and the ways of its implementation in scientific and educational activities.
The experience of researchers from14 Swedish Universities regarding the development of the humanitarian mission of the Universities for the benefit of communities is one of the most vivid and progressive. Part of it has prospects for implementation by Ukrainian educational institutions.
During the first days of work, the Swedish experience of cooperation between the Universities in the scope of conducting scientific research was reviewed, scientific projects in which Ukrainian Universities may be involved, as well as the mechanisms of such cooperation, were presented. The issues of communication and media studies of the Lund University were separately discussed
The delegation of the DonSUIA made a presentation of the University, mentioned modern projects that it implements within the frame of the third mission, as well as some perspective areas of interaction between the University and communities in Ukraine.
