Annual training on basic provisions of anti-corruption legislation was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs for the staffers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, territorial bodies, institutions, organizations and enterprises under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions.
The event was organized on the initiative of the Corruption Prevention Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the NATO Integrity Education Program within the framework of implementing the Anti-Corruption Program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for 2023–2025.
The participants were welcomed by Anatolii Fodchuk, head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He stressed upon the fact that war is not an excuse for tolerating corruption – on the contrary, it requires even greater determination, responsibility, and integrity in every decision and action.
On behalf of the DonSUIA rector, Serhii Vitvitskyi, the University vice-rector Ruslan Vradii, addressed the audience. He emphasized that the issues of integrity and combating corruption remain among the priorities of the University’s professional activities.
The NATO Integrity Education Program officer Maryna Kohut noted that within the framework of the NATO Integrity Program, trainings and events aimed at developing ethical leadership, integrity, and combating corruption are systematically conducted for representatives of the security and defense sector, of the National Police of Ukraine, as well as among teachers and cadets of higher education institutions with specific learning conditions.
Serhii Mytkalyk, head of the Board of the Anti-Corruption Headquarters Public Organization, and Iryna Mandolina, head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the Main Office of the National Police of Ukraine, shared their practical experience with the participants. They raised the issue of managing corruption risks in the activities of state bodies, developing measures of influence and mechanisms for minimizing and eliminating risks, as well as of liability for violations of anti-corruption legislation.
