The 8th All-Ukrainian scientific and practical cadet (student) conference in foreign languages «Law enforcement bodies in protection of law, order and constitutional freedoms in conditions of peacetime and martial law» was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
This year, 121 abstracts of speeches from representatives of different higher education institutions in Ukraine were sent to the organizing committee.
The University vice-rector Olena Volobuieva addressed the cadets, students and guests on behalf of the DonSUIA rector Serhii Vitvitskyi: «In the context of European integration and active international interaction, professional foreign language training of lawyers and law enforcement officers is becoming increasingly relevant. That is why our University pays due attention to the formation of foreign language communicative competence in young people».
Desiree Hufnagl, advisor-trainer on criminal investigations and expert of the European Union Advisory Mission, noted that public order is the foundation on which society builds peace and progress. It is essential for ensuring security, protecting life, and creating the environment where the rule of law prevails.
Yurii Derevianchenko, head of the criminal investigation department of the Main Office of the National Police in the Kirovohrad Region, emphasized the importance of foreign languages knowledge for higher education seekers at the institutions with specific learning conditions. He also expressed hope that such scientific activities will continue to contribute to the implementation of the state policy in the field of foreign languages in the educational sphere.
The conference participants discussed the issues relevant in peacetime and martial law, such as international standards of law enforcement activities; prevention of offenses by law enforcement bodies; interaction between law enforcement bodies and the public in the field of ensuring public order, training of law enforcement officers.
The event was organized by lecturers of the DonSUIA department of foreign languages.
