Rector assistant for gender issues of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, candidate of pedagogical sciences Kateryna Voievoda took part in the regional dialogue «Regional dialogue on launching local algorithms for supporting victims of sexual violence related to the conflict», which was held in Kropyvnytskyi.
The meeting participants focused on issues of interagency cooperation and coordination of actions of different services, and they also discussed the role of state institutions in providing support to victims, the principles of confidentiality, safe communication and prevention of re-traumatization while providing assistance. Particular emphasis was laid on creating effective mechanisms for referring people to specialized support services.
The DonSUIA representative’s participation in the event confirms the University’s consistent work on training security and defense sector specialists capable of effectively responding to modern challenges. This activity also contributes to the implementation of the National Action Plan «Women, Peace, Security» and establishment of the principles of zero tolerance for violence.
