The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs has become a platform for an important security initiative. Representatives of Tetra Tech, a key partner of the US Department of State, conducted a specialized training course for the University’s teachers, the «Mine Safety Course – Training Instructors» (ENS-TC).
The course program combined thorough theoretical training with practical exercises «in the field». The participants studied the classification of ammunition in detail – from conventional shells and grenades to insidious submunitions and improvised explosive devices, and also acquired skills in recognizing signs of danger directly in the field.

One of the key elements of the training was mastering the international algorithm «5 C». The method involved five clear steps: confirm the find, clear the area, mark and surround the scene, control the situation and communicate with the relevant services.
Tetra Tech specialists also taught the DonSUIA lecturers communicative techniques that will allow them to effectively share their experience with higher education seekers and course participants.
The final stage of the training was analysis of real scenarios, during which each participant demonstrated skills in managing critical situations and conducting theoretical classes.
Successful completion of the training was marked by the presentation of certificates, which officially confirm the right of the lecturers to independently train highly qualified mine safety specialists.
