The IX All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Cadet (Student) Conference in Foreign Languages «Law Enforcement Bodies in Protection of Law, Order and Constitutional Freedoms in Conditions of Peacetime and during Martial Law» was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
This year, the organizing committee received 156 abstracts from higher education institutions seekers of different regions of Ukraine. In their works, the participants raised topical issues of protecting constitutional human rights in police activities in conditions of military conflict, compliance with international standards of law enforcement activities in peacetime and during martial law, crime prevention, interaction between law enforcement agencies and the public, training security sector specialists, as well as the role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring national security, implementing tasks of territorial defense and the movement of resistance.
Head of the DonSUIA Department of Organization of Scientific Activities Doctor of Law, Associate Professor Hanna Buha, welcomed the participants. She noted that during martial law, law enforcement officers ensure law, order and stability, and the knowledge of foreign languages is an important component of their professional training and Ukraine’s integration into the global legal space.
Head of the Council of Young Scientists of Ukraine under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Anastasiia Simakhova emphasized that young scientists strengthen the intellectual potential of the state, and the knowledge of foreign languages opens the way for them to international scientific cooperation.
Senior Advisor on General Policing, Expert of the European Union Advisory Mission Heorhios Pokas emphasized the importance of supporting reforms in the civilian security sector, adherence to the principles of the rule of law and transparency, the difficulties of law enforcement work during war, and the importance of the knowledge of foreign languages for a modern police officer.
The conference confirmed: the future of Ukrainian law and order belongs to specialists who combine professional skills with an international outlook and are ready to build a legal state according to European standards.
