A discussion panel “Gender and Education: Challenges and Prospects” was held in the general library of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, which brought together students, librarians, scientists, and the University administration.
The speakers of the event were Kateryna Voievoda, Rector’s Assistant for Gender Issues, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Natalia Pasichnyk, and Yuliia Bahlai, Acting Head of the General Library. They spoke about the role of education in overcoming gender stereotypes, creating equal opportunities for men and women, and outlined the University work in the field of gender policy.
Natalia Pasichnyk presented scientific and methodological works on gender issues prepared within the framework of the international projects of the EU Erasmus+ Program and the Jean Monnet module.
During the discussion, the participants regarded the issues of overcoming gender stereotypes in the educational process, formation of the culture of equal opportunities in the students environment, and the role of educational institutions in ensuring gender justice.
The discussion panel became a step in the implementation of the DonSUIA gender policy, aimed at creating an inclusive educational space and educating future specialists in the spirit of respect, tolerance, and mutual understanding.
