The book by Tymur Nahalevskyi “Guard of offense. The witness” was presented in the DonSUIA.
The volunteer project has been implemented on the initiative of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
The author of the publication, Tymur Nahalevskyi and his colleagues in service, visited the training bases of the newly created brigades of the National Guard, the National Police and the State Border Service of Ukraine, where he met with the participants of the battle for Kyiv, the defense of Mariupol, the liberation of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. These are ordinary people – men and women with their own weaknesses, emotions and incredible willpower to fight the enemy, who have gone through trials that have fundamentally changed them.
The book is illustrated with unique photo collages by a creative artist Daria Kopiika. They are successfully combined with the text and spirit of the novel.
The history of writing the novel was told to the listeners of the DonSUIA MCPPT “Police Academy” by Tymur Nahalevskyi, senior radio telegrapher (group commander) of the tank unit communication group, part of the military unit 3027 of the Northern Operational Territorial Formation of the National Guard of Ukraine; soldier Denis Sokolov, shooter of the 1st platoon of the 37th unit of the 8th battalion, part of the 3114th military unit of the Northern operational territorial formation of the National Guard of Ukraine; Bohdan Nazarenko, the third category staff sergeant of the Image and Publishing Center social support group of the National Guard of Ukraine. The latter is one of the prototypes of the book characters.
The event was attended by Natalia Kazakova, head of the unit of patriotic education and sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Department of Education, Science and Sports; Serhii Beseda, deputy head of the investigative department of the HONP in the Donetsk region; Kateryna Koltunova, deputy head of the Kirovohrad RMA.
Rector of the DonSUIA Serhii Vitvitskyi thanked the guests for the opportunity to learn at what cost the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine is being fought today: “We must remember, due to whom we can learn, live and make plans for the future. This book helps to understand what the defenders of the Motherland experienced and felt, who at the cost of their own lives violated the plans of the invaders.”
Tymur Nahalevskyi noted that with his book he wanted to send young people the message that history should be known. Because, Russian propaganda has been distorting reality for many years. Young people must know that Ukraine has its own history, and they are its creators.
