Students and academic staff of the Faculty of Law, Management and Economic Security Specialist Training of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs held an educational action “Future without violence”.
In the framework of the campaign “16 Days Against Gender Violence” different manifestations of violence and how to act in cases where a person became a victim or witness of it were discussed in the center of Kropyvnytskyi.
Students consulted citizens, handed out information leaflets with the contacts of the legal clinic of the University “Legal Defense”. If necessary, people can apply for free legal assistance.
Among the interviewees were persons who shared their experience.
Tetiana Tymchenko from Kropyvnytskyi was a victim of psychological violence, but she recognized it only four years after. Almost all the respondents indicated that they are ready to talk about their problem, but only on condition of qualified consultation and help.
“The purpose of the action is to stop the violence that can occur in the family, the violence that can occur through child abuse, the violence that we encounter today when military aggression has actively covered the entire territory of Ukraine. It is a pity that not everyone knows where to go, which hotlines are available, and where you can get legal help” – indicated the Head of the Department of Civil, Labor Law and Social Security Law of the DonSUIA Koliesnik Tetiana.
About a hundred citizens joined the action in two hours. The most active received sweet gifts.
If you are a victim or witness of violence, call the government’s hotline at 1547. For free legal assistance, you can contact the legal clinic of DonSUIA “Legal Defense”. Tel. +380662462423
