The sporting year 2025 was a year of high achievements, new records, and fierce struggle for the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. On this occasion, the University rector, Serhii Vitvitskyi, held a solemn ceremony to award the best athletes of the higher education institution.
Based on the results of the current year performances, the top ten athletes were identified.
Track and field events : two-time winner of the championship among higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Viktoriia Tyshlek, two-time winner of the championship among HEIs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vladyslav Nagornyi, winner and silver medalist of the championship among HEIs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Daniil Polovyi, winner of the championship among HEIs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yaroslav Vysotskyi, as well as winner of the Cup of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in running (10 km), silver medalist of the championship among HEI of the MIA system of Ukraine Karina Tkach.
Martial arts: Ukrainian MMA champion, participant of the MMA World Championship Sultan Haniev and bronze medalist of the Sambo championship among HEI of the MIA system of Ukraine Oleksandr Mosin.
Team and power sports: captains of the University teams Vadym Kulia (volleyball), Ernest Saribekian (football) and Bohdan Hevelenko (weightlifting).
During the event special attention was paid to the athletes’ mentors. For their significant contribution to the development of student sports, honorary awards were received by head of the department of special physical training, coach of track and field team Ihor Shostak; senior lecturer and coach of sambo wrestling team Dmytro Lungu; as well as senior lecturer, coach of football and volleyball teams Yurii Myronov.
The highlight of the ceremony was presentation of certificates and badges of «Master of Sports of Ukraine». The honorary title of sambo wrestler was confirmed by cadets Maksym Syrmamiyikh, Kateryna Deriahina and Tetiana Koroliuk. Also, a high distinction was received by senior lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training Yevhen Kharytonenko, who successfully combines teaching activities with professional sports.
Summing up the event, rector Serhii Vitvitskyi wished the athletes not to stop there and continue to represent the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs in sports arenas and in professional activities.
