On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs founding a large-scale sports event – open track-and- field championship «Rector’s Cup» took place.
The ceremonial part was opened by the University rector, Serhii Vitvitskyi, who congratulated the participants, thanked the defenders for the opportunity to hold the event, and wished the athletes high results and new sports achievements.
This year’s championship brought together six national teams on the running tracks, including the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, the Kryvyi Rih Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the DonSUIA, the Main Office of the National Police in the Kirovohrad region, the Patrol Police Department in the Kirovohrad region, the Main Office of the State Emergency Service in the Kirovohrad region, and the FLAKR track and field team.
The competition program included individual races at distances of 100, 400, 1000 and 3000 meters, as well as a combined relay race according to the scheme of 100+200+300+400 meters.
According to the results of individual performances, the winners in their disciplines were:
100 m – Daniil Polovyi (DonSUIA) and Kira Zaitseva (FLAKR);
400 m – Vladyslav Teslenko (FLAKR) and Liubov Kusakina (DonSUIA);
1000 m – Anton Khorolskyi (DonSUIA) and Veronika Boyko (DonSUIA);
3000 m – Ilia Alieksieiev (FLAKR).
The prize places in the combined relay were distributed as follows:
1st place – the DonSUIA-1;
2nd place – the DonSUIA-2;
3rd place – the Main Office of the State Emergency Service in the Kirovograd region.
In the team competition, the champion title was won by the DonSUIA, the second place – by the Main Office of the State Emergency Service in the Kirovograd region, the third one – by the Kryvyi Rih Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The event was organized by the Department of Special Physical Training of the DonSUIA, headed by Ihor Shostak, with the professional support of the referees of the Federation of Athletics of the Kirovograd Region.
The DonSUIA congratulates the winners and prize-winners and wishes them new successful starts.
