Students of the Kryvyi Rih Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the DonSUIA took part in the third annual trail race dedicated to honoring the memory of the fallen defender of Ukraine – serviceman Serhii Lakusta.
Serhii Lakusta worked in agriculture in Kryvyi Rih before the full-scale invasion started. In 2022, he joined the 129th separate territorial defense brigade. He defended Kryvyi Rih, participated in the liberation of the Kherson region, and performed combat missions in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia directions. He perished on July 17, 2023, together with his comrades in the Sumy region.
1st and 2nd year high school students, physical education teacher Anna Krynychna, and deputy director for educational and methodological work Yulia Izrailova participated in the event.
In addition to honoring the memory of the Hero, the race was also aimed at raising funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the residents of Kryvyi Rih.
Participation in such initiatives contributes to the formation of national consciousness, respect for the feat of the military, and an active civic position among the younger generation.
