Sergii Ivanov, a resident of Kropyvnytskyi, has the second group of disability. The war veteran is undergoing practical training at the «Driving School for People with Disabilities», which operates on the basis of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. For him, this is his first driving experience.
«A driver’s license is not just a document, but an opportunity to be mobile», says Serhii. «Because of my work, I often have to move between different locations, and having my own car will make this process much easier».
Practical classes on public roads is an integral part of training at the DonSUIA driving school, because they allow its students to consolidate theoretical knowledge in real conditions.
Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, Serhii practices driving skills and prepares for the exam at the regional service center of the MSC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Vinnytsia, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions.
The project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine «Driving School for Persons with Disabilities» is being implemented with the support of partners within the frame of the nationwide initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska «Without Barriers».
