A regional training on combating organized crime against property was held in the city of Berlin (the Federal Republic of Germany) from June 8 to June12, 2026.
The international event was attended by Olha Lunhol, Head of the Department of Operational and Investigative Activities and Information Security of the E. O. Didorenko Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the DonSUIA, and Maryna Voichyshyna, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Criminal Process and Forensics of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine.
The program combined theoretical training with intensive practical sessions, including brainstorming, group exercises and analysis of simulated criminal proceedings. Particular attention was paid to the investigation of vehicle thefts, serial thefts, ATM attacks with the use of explosive devices, as well as crimes against cultural heritage.
An important component of the program was a study visit to the Berlin Criminal Police Department (CID Berlin), which provided an opportunity to get acquainted with the practical aspects of law enforcement work, exchanging professional experience and establishing international contacts.
The knowledge and materials obtained during the training will be integrated into the educational process of the DonSUIA by means of updating curricula, as well as conducting trainings and workshops for scientific and pedagogical staffers and students.
The program has been implemented by the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) within the framework of the project «Training and Operational Partnership in the Fight against Organized Crime» (TOPSOP II).
