The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs took part in an educational event in the format of a reading club “Spirit, Path, Power: Communication and Self-Development in Difficult Times” based on the books “Semen’s Stars” and “Anatomy of a Warrior.” The event was organized by the National Academy of Internal Affairs with the support of the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the instructions of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Inna Yashchuk.
The event brought together representatives of 11 higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, representatives of student self-government and youth public organizations, units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine, the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, and military chaplains of the National Guard and the State Border Service of Ukraine.
At the University the event was moderated by the staffers of the general library: Yuliia Bahlai, Antonina Harkusha, Iryna Konieva, and Tetiana Zavaliei.
The author of the books “Semen’s Stars” and “Anatomy of a Warrior” – military chaplain of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Andrii Zelinskyi – spoke about the process of writing his books, shared personal stories from the front and the motives for his work. He also answered the participants’ questions about the role of spiritual support in conditions of war, moral resilience, and life lessons learned, inspiring the listeners to more deeply reflect on their own lives and service to others.
Such initiatives help the DonSUIA higher education seekers to broaden their worldview, inspire personal development, and form understanding of the importance of spiritual and moral values in the law enforcement profession.
