The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs continues to promote physical and psychological rehabilitation of military personnel within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine “Friendly Support”.
Associate professor of the University special physical and pre-medical training department Volodymyr Halimskyi conducted wrestling training for war veterans: “This sport develops strength, coordination, and endurance, helping our military personnel restore physical fitness and overcome post-traumatic stress.”
During the training, the Ukrainian defenders practiced basic and special exercises: wrestling on the ground; throws and grabs; work on balance and endurance; interceptions and holds involving the strength of the body.
Particular attention was paid to proper technique of breathing, which allows veterans to relieve the nervous system and strengthen their physical condition.
