As part of Remembrance Week, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for the Defenders of Ukraine, Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs hosted a patriotic gathering with war veterans Viktor Shcherbina and Yulia Dundanova.
Viktor Shcherbina, a leading specialist in the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work at Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, shared his memories of military service, his combat experience, his comrades-in-arms, and the hardships he endured while defending Ukraine. He also spoke specifically about the work of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs Volunteer Headquarters, which he heads, and the support provided to Ukrainian troops on the home front.
In turn, Yulia Dundanova, call sign «Kalyna, » shared her memories of serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, her injuries, and her road to recovery. She currently works as a specialist in the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs’ group responsible for organizing work with conscripts and those subject to military service.
The veterans’ stories helped the cadets gain a deeper understanding of the price of freedom and the importance of preserving the memory of the fallen defenders.
