Systematic adaptive training sessions continue at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs (DonSUIA) as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine’s «Friendly Support» project.
Alina Kramarenko, lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training at the DonSUIA, in cooperation with the regional branch of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, involved a new participant in her sessions: Oleksandr, a 24-year-old sapper squad commander from the 48th Engineer Brigade.
In December 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kupiansk sector, he sustained a severe injury and lost a lower limb. His first session was conducted on a one-on-one basis: together with the trainer, Oleksandr set his goals, made a training plan, and began his physical rehabilitation.
«Even in a small town, there are higher education institutions ready to help severely wounded military personnel free of charge—to socialize, train, interact with others, and work on themselves», Oleksandr noted.
