Anna Buha, Head of the Department of Scientific Activities at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, and Tetiana Ponomariova, Head of the Research Laboratory on Crime Prevention at the E.O. Didenko at the DonSUIA, took part in the international webinar «Developing a Better Understanding of Information Suppression by State Authorities as an Example of Foreign Interference and Information Manipulation. »
During the event, participants discussed contemporary information threats, including censorship, online harassment, and self-censorship, as well as their impact on freedom of speech, democratic processes, and societal resilience.
Particular attention was paid to research findings that contribute to a deeper understanding of manifestations of cross-border authoritarian influence and the development of effective mechanisms to counter information threats.
The webinar took place as part of the RESONANT project under the European Union’s Framework Program for Research and Innovation, «Horizon Europe. »
