Maksym, a veteran of the russian-Ukrainian war, successfully completed his training at the «Barrier-Free Driving School» at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
In 2024, while carrying out combat missions in the Donetsk region, the soldier suffered an explosive injury that resulted in the loss of his lower limb. After treatment and rehabilitation, he set himself a new goal: to learn to drive and regain his independence in daily life.
To achieve this, Maksym enrolled in the «Barrier-Free Driving School» at the DonSUIA, where he acquired the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical driving skills.
The final stage of his training was successfully passing the practical exam at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center in the Kirovohrad region, after which he received a Category «B» driver’s license.
The «Barrier-Free Driving Schools» project is being implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine as part of an initiative by First Lady Olena Zelenska.
