Around table «Women. Peace. Security: from strategy to real actions in communities» was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The event brought together representatives of governmental agencies, law enforcement agencies, public organizations, international partners and expert community.
The participants were welcomed by Deputy Head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration Kateryna Koltunova, First Vice-Rector of the DonSUIA, Candidate of Law, Professor, Police Colonel Olena Volobuieva, Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko, representative of the International Charitable Foundation «Ukrainian Women’s Fund» Nataliia Karbovska, as well as Deputy Head of the Human Rights Monitoring Department – Head of the Gender Equality Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Olha Perunova.
Continuing the business part of the meeting, Inha Dudnik, executive director of public organization the «Territory of Success», representative of the secretariat of the «Kirovohrad Region 1325» coalition, presented a report on the implementation of the regional action plan for carrying out UN Security Council Resolution 1325.
During active discussion, the guests of the event analyzed the results already achieved and the challenges faced by the communities of the Kirovohrad region.
The participants paid special attention to the preparation for the development of a new regional action plan for carrying out the National Action Plan for the Implementation of Resolution 1325 for 2026–2030. The importance of a systematic approach to integrating a gender perspective into the security sector, community development, the activities of law enforcement agencies and educational institutions was emphasized.
After the discussion part, the organizers presented an exhibition of paintings «Women, Peace, Security».
At the end of the event, there was a ceremonial award of partners and active participants of the «Kirovohrad Region 1325» coalition for their significant contribution to the development of gender policy and support for the initiatives aimed at strengthening the role of women in the processes of recovery, security and development of communities.
During the award ceremony, the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs received Appreciation Certificate from the regional coalition «Kirovohrad Region 1325» for active cooperation and partnership.
