The Academic Integrity Promotion Group of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs held an educational event for students of preparatory courses. The topic of the meeting was «The Law of Ukraine «On Academic Integrity» in the Activities of Higher Education Seekers». It helped young people understand how important it is to build their future careers on the principles of honesty and responsibility.
During the event, the lecturers focused on the basic values and principles of academic integrity in detail. The applicants learned about the rules that each participant of the educational process must follow, and why independent completion of tasks is the key to quality education.
The speakers paid special attention to the analysis of violations, such as plagiarism or copying. The participants were explained how the University reacted to such cases and what sanctions could be applied to violators. This approach allows the applicants to realize in advance their responsibility for their academic results.
At the end of the meeting, those present were shown the «Academic Integrity» section on the official website of the DonSUIA, where anyone can find additional materials to improve their qualifications on current issues of educational ethics.
