Within the framework of the international project ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE “Implementation of the European Approach to Compliance Management in Higher Education of Ukraine”, piloting an open micro-certification program “Compliance Management” for business representatives, managers and compliance specialists has begun at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The training is aimed at specialists who seek to: strengthen the culture of compliance in their organizations; improve corporate management; minimize regulatory and reputational risks; increase business competitiveness at the national and international levels.
The event was opened by Deputy Director of Education, Science and Sports Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Police Lieutenant Colonel Yehor Nazymko and Rector of the University, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Police Colonel Serhii Vitvitskyi.
The speakers emphasized that despite all the challenges and negative military-political factors caused by the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, Ukraine confidently continues to implement consistent integration into the European legal and economic space. Therefore, the issue of ensuring compliance of national institutions with the standards of the European Union is of strategic importance.
A welcome speech was also delivered by a research associate at the Business School of the University of Applied Sciences (Wismar, Germany), manager of the EUComplianceM4UA project, Doctor of Sciences Anna Fomenko, who noted the importance of the project and the presented micro-certification program.
During her speech, the moderator of the event, Doctor of Law, Senior Researcher of the DonSUIA Tetiana Ponomareva outlined the features of compliance management and its importance for Ukrainian business and higher education.
In his turn, Deputy Head of the Department – Head of the Lifestyle Monitoring Unit of the Lifestyle Monitoring and Control Department for the Completeness of Declarations of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention Viacheslav Bondarenko presented the project to those present and gave a lecture on the specifics of anti-corruption compliance.
The final part of the event was a practical training, during which the participants consolidated their knowledge and discussed implementation of compliance procedures in the activities of Ukrainian enterprises and organizations.
