Lawyer, program manager of the public organization “Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “YurFem”” Marta Pavlyshyn gave a lecture for higher education seekers of the faculty of law, management and economic security of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs on the topic “Sexual harassment: results of the application of rule 173-7 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for six months.”
The speaker spoke about the specifics of gender discrimination in the context of national and international legislation, the differences between sexual harassment and flirting, the problems of victim blaming, as well as ways to minimize retraumatization when working with victims.
Marta Pavlyshyn paid particular attention to changes in judicial practice after the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses in Connection with the Ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence.”
The event took place within the framework of implementing the memorandum of cooperation between the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs and the public organization “Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “YurFem””.
