On October 12, the Training center “Education of Virtue” under the patronage of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and international partners started its work on the basis of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
Its purpose is to promote the development and propagation of a virtuous worldview among the staffers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to increase the understanding of virtuous principles and standards of behavior that the staffers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs should follow.
In his congratulatory speech, the Rector of the DonSUIA Serhii Vitvitskyi emphasized the importance of this center functioning in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine: “The responsible mission of piloting the Training center project with a certified training program was assigned to the DonSUIA by the Anti-corruption program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for 2023-2025. I am confident that the center will become the hub and “heart” of developing integrity and ethics in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Kropyvnytskyi community.” During the presentation of the center, Serhii Vitvitskyi announced the main areas of its work.
The opening was attended by: Oleksandr Tarasenko, director of Education, Science and Sports Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; Anatolii Fodchuk, head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; head of Kirovohrad RMA Andrii Raikovych; head of the Kirovohrad Regional Council Yurii Drozd; deputy head of the department for organization of scientific activities and innovations – head of the organizational and scientific unit of Education, Science and Sports Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Maksym Romanov; head of the regional service center of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kirovohrad Region, Serhii Pyzhov; director of Education and Science Department of Kirovohrad RMA Elza Leshchenko; Anna Zarichna, co-chair of the MFO “Equal opportunities”; representatives of the scientific and teaching staff of the University.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Inna Yashchuk congratulated the University staff on the indicative event: “It is very nice that the University which has experienced several relocations and demonstrates the best examples of scientific and professional development, initiated such a center. I wish its activities would not be limited to the University, and the center itself would become a high-quality platform for anti-corruption activities in Ukraine.”
The director of Education, Science and Sports Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Oleksandr Tarasenko, also emphasized the importance of the event: “The opening of the Training center “Education of Virtue” is significant not only for the DonSUIA and Kirovohrad region, but also for the entire system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ukraine in general. We understand how important fighting against corruption is today. The Education, Science and Sports Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs supports the DonSUIA in all its endeavors and wishes not to stop at what it has achieved and to continue working for the development and victory of the country.”
Anatoly Fodchuk gave the first lecture for the students of the center on the theme “Education of virtue in modern conditions”. Addressing the audience, he expressed the hope that this center will become a supporting educational, methodological and scientific base in the MIA system for implementing the principles of integrity among MIA staffers.
Rector Serhii Vitvitsky presented Anatoly Fodchuk with the Certificate of Honorary Lecturer of the Training center “Education of Virtue”.
The DonSUIA thanks the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and international partners for their support of the University and a significant contribution to the development of principles of virtuous behavior in Ukrainian society.
