Why ‘Data Protection’ is very important during the criminal investigation? What is the difference between regulation and directive? What are the tools of criminal investigation that influence personal data? These and the other questions were discussed by cadets during the online webinar on the best European practices in policing. The speaker of the webinar was Elena Aguero – a senior adviser and public prosecutor in Spain.
During the webinar higher education applicants raised their awareness of the importance of fundamental rights to the protection of personal data in the criminal investigation. The cadets got acquainted with the European standards on data protection for criminal investigation purposes, particularly investigative tools that affect special categories of personal data.
The processing sequence of personal data in cross-border cooperation and their transfer to the third countries were also discussed.
