Police officers of the educational security service units who are undergoing training at the Mariupol Center for Initial Professional Training “Police Academy” of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, together with inspector of the public relations Department of Kyiv patrol police, bicycle safety expert Mykola Poliukhovych, conducted a series of educational trainings “Road Safety” for the pupils of Kropyvnytskyi.
The event took place within the framework of the international research project “Threat Prevention by the National Police of Ukraine”, which is being implemented by the Institute of East European Law (Regensburg, Germany), the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, and the patrol police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers told schoolchildren about the rules of conduct for cyclists on the roads, the importance of using protective equipment and reflective elements. Special attention was paid to the mandatory observance of traffic lights, traffic controllers, and road signs.
“Cyclists are full-fledged participants of road traffic. That is why it is so important to form in children an understanding of the rules and responsibility for their own safety on the road from an early age,” said Mykola Poliukhovych.
