The issues of international humanitarian aid of the university were the topic of a meeting between the head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Trond Hasby and leaders of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, which took place on June 30 at the higher education institution. Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Stanislav Kruk joined the event too.
During the meeting, been discussed the directions for crystallization of assistance of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on certain police training programs, training of Ukrainian citizens in the skills of fixation cases of civilian objects mining. Also, have identified a number of urgent problems that need attentive solutions by international and foreign partners.
Rector Serhii Vitvitskyi told to visitors about the lost locations of the DonSUIA in Mariupol, mentioned the available facilities in Kropyvnytskyi which university has got due to the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, city council and regional authorities, shared plans and ways of improvement material and technical support of the university.
Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Stanislav Kruk noted that DonSUIA has great potential, which should be supported today.
“We are helping to replaced people. The whole University faced this problem, – said Trond Husby. “We will direct our efforts on attracting international donors who will be able to provide financial assistance to the institution.”
DonSUIA top-management and staff are grateful to the Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Trond Husby and the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Stanislav Kruk for attention and empathy. It is very important for the University to be supported by such powerful organization with long history, which will help to strength positions of higher education institution and will will ensure a sustainable development.
