Police officers from the educational security service organization units, who are undergoing training at the Mariupol Center for Initial Professional Training «Police Academy» of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, took part in the training «Psychological First Aid in Extreme Situations».
The speakers were: Yevhenia Pohribna, head of the psychological service of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kirovohrad region; Andrii Fomenko, crisis psychologist, head of the Department of Extreme and Crisis Psychology of the DonSUIA (on a voluntary basis), lecturer of special disciplines cycle of the MCIPT «Police Academy»; psychologist of the personnel department of special operations battalion «Aeneas» Maryna Mykhailenko.
They talked about the main psychophysiological processes of the stress response, its types, manifestations, and methods of regulation, and also shared practical cases of providing psychological assistance.
«Modern conditions require high-quality professional and psychological training for educational security officers to work in emergency situations, because the security of all members of the educational process depends on their skills», said Andrii Fomenko.
To reinforce the principles of self-regulation, self-motivation, mutual support and assistance, the police officers performed exercises with mountain equipment and on a bouldering stand.
