An instructor – a combat medic of a special unit of the separate assault brigade “Liut” with the call sign “Aeneas” – conducted a binary lesson for students of the Mariupol Center for Primary Professional Training “Police Academy” of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The topic of the event was evacuation of a wounded soldier from the battlefield during enemy fire.
During the training, the trainees learned about the key stages of evacuation and safe transportation of the wounded, including: organizing cover during removal from a dangerous sector; quick assessing the wounded’s condition and determining the priority of actions; techniques for removing the wounded in different ways depending on the situation; communication within the group and interaction between those providing assistance and those providing cover.
The instructor emphasized the importance of coordinated actions in the realities of modern combat operations, when every movement under fire determines not only the chance to save the wounded, but also the safety of the entire group.
The practical part allowed the trainees to practice evacuation techniques in conditions as close to real-life as possible, to feel psychological pressure, and to learn to act quickly and confidently.
