Education that meets modern security challenges is a priority for the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. That is why cadets of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units named after E. O. Didorenko improved their competence by successfully completing the training «Stop the Bleed» from PARAMEDIC Training Center.

«Stop the Bleed» is a global public education initiative aimed at training civilians and professionals (including police and emergency responders) in the skills to stop massive bleeding. The program was developed with the support of the American College of Surgeons after a series of mass incidents.
The training was conducted by certified instructor Oleksandr Savenko, who taught future officers the basic algorithms for action in extreme situations involving serious injuries.

During practical classes, the cadets consolidated key skills and practical actions: they identified the type of bleeding, learned how to correctly apply a tourniquet to temporarily stop massive bleeding on the extremities, and mastered wound tamponade using special dressings and techniques for stopping bleeding by applying direct pressure to the wound.
«Mastering these skills is extremely important for law enforcement officers, as they are often the first to arrive at the scene of an accident, fire, explosion, or other emergency. «The ability to quickly and effectively stop bleeding can save the victim’s life before the arrival of medics,» the instructor noted.
As a result of the training, the police officers successfully passed the test and received internationally recognized certificates, confirming their readiness to act quickly and professionally in extreme conditions.
