The general library of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs was replenished with new professional publications in English, which came from the scientific library of the Troy University (Alabama, USA) within the framework of the international project «Sister Libraries», coordinated in Ukraine by the international cooperation unit of the DonSUIA.
The received books include texts for reading on international law, in particular classical and contemporary aspects of international law, issues of globalization, philosophy of international law and the development of the world law. The library collection was also replenished with publications on the theory of criminology, which examine pre-classical and classical theories of crime.
Of practical value for future investigators is the fundamental work «Fundamentals of Criminal Investigation», and the manual «Practice of Research in Criminology and Criminal Justice» contains a detailed description of the methodology for conducting criminological research.
The book «The Science of Sherlock Holmes» which in popular form covers the most famous cases of legendary detectives. will be interesting for lovers of detective stories.
A separate block of the received literature is devoted to issues of punishment, correctional system functioning and work with juveniles and female offenders.
The books acquired by the library will be a useful resource for cadets, students and lecturers when preparing for classes in English and seminars in professional subjects.
