Kateryna Udod, commissioner for anti-corruption activities of the DonSUIA, took part in a training session devoted to the development of whistle-blowing culture and the work of the Unified Whistleblower Reporting Portal.
The event was held with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine and the financial support of Swedish government.
The training was conducted for authorized persons on issues of prevention and detection of corruption in higher education institutions with specific conditions of study, as well as for the representatives of administrations, local self-government and communal enterprises of Poltava, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
Oksana Bronevytska and Olena Karpova, experts of the Institutional Development Foundation, acted as trainers.
The training participants considered: successful practices of exposing corruption; the best standards of a whistleblower protection (in particular, labor rights, confidentiality, anonymity, security guarantees); peculiarities of observing a whistleblower’s rights in case of notification of a criminal and administrative corruption offence.
Special attention was paid to: organizing the work of anti-corruption commissioners in terms of ensuring the rights of whistleblowers; channels for reporting corruption and working with the Unified Whistleblower Reporting portal.
