Police Colonel Serhii Vitvitskyi, the Rector of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, together with the students of the university, took part in the citywide events on the occasion of the Day of Dignity and Freedom in Kropyvnytskyi.
The leadership of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, Kirovohrad Regional Council, Kropyvnytskyi City Council, law enforcement and military structures, educational institutions and the city community laid flowers at the memorial plaque to the Hero of Ukraine Viktor Chmilenko. The Ukrainian farmer, civic activist, and active participant in Euromaidan was killed by a sniper’s bullet on February 20, 2014.
The participants of the event also bowed their heads in a minute of silence to commemorate the feat of all those fighting for Ukraine’s independent future and laid flowers at the memorial to the Heavenly Hundred Heroes on Maidan Heroes Square.
