The Fort 9mm pistol shooting tournament held according to the rules of the ICPS (International Confederation of Practical Shooting) was dedicated to the memory of Artem Halkevich, a university staff member who heroically died on March 12, 2022, in the city of Mariupol while on duty.
The competition was held on the basis of the shooting gallery of the faculty training specialists for units of the National Police. Four collective teams of graduates of faculties No. 1, 2, 3 of DonSUIA, as well as faculty No. 1 of KRESI DonSUIA, fought for the title of the most accurate shooter.
The dean of faculty No. 1 of KRESI DonSUIA Oleksiy Tsurkan, acted as a senior judge. The senior lecturer of the department of special disciplines and professional training of faculty No. 1 Volodymyr Holyk acted as a judge.
The competition program consisted of three exercises. Each team had to shoot 40 scoring shots.
According to the results of the tournament, the places were distributed the following way:
1st place – the team of Faculty No. 1 of KRESI DonSUIA
2nd place – the team of Faculty No. 1 of DonSUIA
3rd place – the team of Faculty No. 3 of DonSUIA
Prize winners were awarded diplomas and memorable gifts.

“The competition was held with the aim of developing and popularizing practical shooting as a separate sport among the cadets. In order to increase the level of their physical fitness and strengthen their health and promote a healthy lifestyle. During the shooting, all the participants demonstrated a high level of training and showed good results,” noted Oleksii Tsurkan.
