Advanced training for scientific and pedagogical staffers who teach the course “Tactical and Special Training” at educational institutions with specific learning conditions was held at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
The DonSUIA specialists of the Department of Tactical and Special Training and Personal Security of a Police Officer – Head of the Department Artem Sakhno, Associate Professor Oleksandr Holovkov, and Senior Lecturer Serhii Oleksiienko – presented methodological developments and practical cases that confirmed their efficiency in training police officers.
The program included practical training and theoretical modules in relevant areas: tactical principles and models of the use of force, police actions under different levels of resistance, patrolling using UAVs, the MARCH algorithm, and identification of explosive objects. The participants learned about the Scandinavian Model of Policing, interior building inspections, responding to active shooter situations, driver restraints, and high-risk vehicle stops.
Special attention was paid to working in small groups, evacuating a police officer in difficult conditions, using special software and hardware, and the “Information Portal of the National Police.” Individual modules covered topography, engineering training, and practical use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The training emphasized the importance of systematic professional development of tactical and special training instructors, who prepare resilient police officers able to act facing modern challenges.
