Olha Gaborets, Associate Professor of the Department of Operational Investigation and Information Security of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, participated in the animation course «Open Source Information (OSINT)», organized by the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) within the framework of the TOPCOP II project.
The participants learned about modern approaches to conducting OSINT research, the specifics of applying SOCMINT and GEOINT methods, the possibilities of using artificial intelligence technologies in analytical activities, as well as issues of digital security and ensuring anonymity when working with open sources.
During practical classes, they improved their skills in searching, collecting, analyzing and verifying information, practiced algorithms for studying digital data, analyzing photo and video materials, and mastered modern OSINT tools for documenting results and establishing relationships between the information obtained.
The knowledge and practical experience gained will contribute to increasing the efficiency of information and analytical work, developing scientific research, and introducing modern open intelligence techniques into the educational process of the DonSUIA.
