On September, 21, the UWW KROPYVNYTSKYI OPEN Grappling Championship of the Kirovohrad region took place in the city of Kropyvnytskyi. 350 athletes from different regions of Ukraine competed for the title of being the strongest.
According to the results of the competition, cadets of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs won a full set of awards in the individual competition and took the third team place.
In different weight categories, awards were given to:
“gold” – Oleksandr Mosin up to 92 kg, Leonid Kokin up to 100+ kg, Vladyslav Rachkovskyi up to 66 kg and Sultan Ganiev 76 and 77 kg;
“silver” – Sultan Ganiev 76 and 77 kg, Mykyta Karpov over 100 kg, Vladyslav Yanda up to 84 kg, Nikhat Kerimov up to 62 kg, Oleksandr Riabovol up to 71 kg;
“bronze” – Dmytro Popovych up to 71 kg, David Motorny up to 66 kg.
In the Takedown section:
1st place – Sultan Ganiev up to 76 and 77 kg, Davyd Motorny up to 66 kg;
2nd place – Vladyslav Lavrentiev up to 71 kg;
3rd place – Dmytro Popovych up to 71 kg.
Systematic training at specially arranged locations of the University, which are equipped with the financial assistance of the European Union within the framework of the project “Support of the displaced Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs”, contributes to the high results of the higher education seekers.
The athletes were prepared for the competition by Dmytro Lungu, a senior teacher of the department of special physical and pre-medical training of the faculty of training specialists for criminal police units, master of sports and Sambo champion of Ukraine among veterans.
