On October 16, the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference “Information Support for Counteracting Organized Crime in Armed Conflict” was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs

The event brought together hundreds of scientists, law enforcement practitioners, representatives of state authorities, the judiciary, and international experts.

On behalf of the DonSUIA Rector, Police Colonel Serhii Vitvitskyi, First Vice-Rector of the University, Police Colonel Olena Volobuieva addressed the audience. She emphasized that combating organized crime in wartime requires immediate integration of scientific developments into practical activities.
Welcoming speeches were made by: Senior Adviser on Special Law Enforcement Bodies of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine Luis Esteban Irasu, Head of the Kirovohrad Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Senior Adviser on Justice Jan Streliuk, Head of the Main Office of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, Candidate of Law, Police Colonel Petro Tokar, Head of the public organization “International Association of Polygraph Examiners” Maksym Klymenko and others.
Based on the results of the work of the sections covering criminal law, criminology, operational investigative, and forensic areas, a number of practical recommendations were developed.
The conference at the DonSUIA demonstrated readiness of Ukrainian scientific community and law enforcement officers not only to respond to existing challenges, but also to develop strategies that will provide an information advantage in the fight for law, order and state security in the context of the ongoing armed conflict.
