The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs hosted a regular meeting of the discussion club on the topic «Social Media: how to use it wisely as a civil servant».
The speakers of the event were representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission – Senior Adviser on Prosecution Affairs (Finland) Samuli Laulumaa and Senior Adviser on Community Policing (Sweden) Hanna Karlsson. They shared their own professional experience in using social media in the investigation of various types of crimes, and outlined key procedures for incorporating digital evidence into criminal
Discussion Club participants together with experts, discussed the benefits and risks of using information from social networks in different countries, including the boundaries between acceptable and unacceptable content, the spread of fake information, and liability for such offenses.
Particular attention was focused on issues of public coverage of activities by citizens and law enforcement officers, as well as on the algorithms of police work with online content, including checking the reliability of information and practical approaches to its analysis.
The meeting was organized and conducted by teachers of the Department of Language Training of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs and took place in the language room, which operates due to the financial support of the European Union within the framework of the project «Support to the Displaced Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs».
