Advanced training of civil servants of category «B» took place at the Training Center «Education of Integrity» of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. Its speaker was head of the Department of State and Legal Disciplines of the DonSUIA, Doctor of Law, Professor Oleksandr Kurakin.
The participants examined in detail modern approaches to the formation of an inclusive environment and learned to analyze regulations for compliance with the principles of non-discrimination. The professor paid special attention to the ethics of interaction with citizens and the creation of a physically and informationally accessible space in state institutions.
A separate block of training was dedicated to the challenges of today: protecting the rights of people with disabilities in conditions of martial law and during future reconstruction of the country. The program took into account the needs of veterans and internally displaced persons, and also considered the issue through the prism of gender equality and intersectionality.
It is symbolic that the program ended on May, 5, the International Day for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This was a reminder that systematic work on creating a barrier-free space is not only a legal requirement, but also is the foundation of European values.
The training was attended by 27 specialists from the Regional Service Center of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
