A super-modern molecular genetics laboratory was opened on the basis of a scientific-research expert – forensic center in Kropyvnytskyi, which became the 12th in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The event took place in the framework of cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police and the local authorities.
It was attended by: director of the State research expert – forensic center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Serhii Krymchuk, head of the Kirovohrad regional military administration Andrii Raikovych, deputy head of the Main investigative department of the National Police of Ukraine Artem Shevchyshen, head of the Main Office of the National Police in the Kirovohrad region Roman Koziakov , director of the Kirovohrad SREFC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Maksym Babii, vice-rector of the DonSUIA Olena Volobuieva.
The laboratory will carry out examinations necessary to establish: genetic features (DNA profile) of human biological material; traces of the biological origin of a specific person in mixed traces; identity of human remains and identification of the dead; the fact of biological paternity or maternity.
During the event, Olena Volobuieva discussed cooperation between the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs and the SREFC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In particular, regarding the involvement of the laboratory staffers in the educational process of the University.
