The conference was held in the city of Florence (Italy) under the slogan “Renaissance of European criminology” and brought together about 2,000 participants – experts in the field of criminology from all over the world. A representative of the DonSUIA, the head of the department of police activity of the LESI named after E.O. Didorenko DonSUIA Yevhen Pysmenskyi joined the conference. To participate in the conference he received a grant from the European Society of Criminology.
Yevhen Pysmensky joined the pre-conference seminar dedicated to the discussion of scientific projects that are being implemented within the framework of preparing a special issue of the European Journal of Criminology. He also spoke at the panel discussion “Wartime Crimes. Changes in the social and criminological landscape in Ukraine in 2022 – 2023” and presented the results of the conducted research on the problems of criminal and legal counteraction to collaborative activities.
According to Yevhen Pysmenskyi, the conference became a significant scientific event. It made it possible to trace the trends of the modern development of criminological science, to identify the most complex issues discussed by leading criminologists, to present the results of research related to combating crime in the conditions of war in Ukraine. No less valuable is the opportunity to study the experience of organizing world-class scientific events, as well as establishing international ties in the academic environment.
