Despite a significant reduction in funding under budget program 2201040 «Scientific and technical activities of higher education institutions and scientific institutions» (general fund), in 2024 Ukrainian Universities demonstrated high initiative in looking for additional sources of support. One of the key compensatory mechanisms was active involvement in grant activities, in particular in international and national scientific project contests.
According to the results of the updated rating of efficiency of Ukrainian higher education institutions participation in scientific project contests, formed by the Center for International Projects «Euroeducation» based on the data from open sources (in particular, the CORDIS platform, EACEA Projects Result, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine), the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs has become one of the leaders among higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The assessment was carried out according to the previous year methodology, taking into account new important coefficients that increased the significance of participation in Horizon Europe projects: the number of Horizon Europe projects won; Erasmus+ projects (KA2); the National Research Foundation of Ukraine; state order; youth scientific initiatives; bilateral scientific programs.
This result became the evidence of high scientific activity, a strategic approach to the development of innovative projects, as well as hard work of the DonSUIA teachers, scientists, and higher education seekers, who successfully implement their research mission, despite the challenges of the time.
