The Donetsk State University’s of Internal Affairs staffers participated in JurFem_Open Space on the topic “Victim-Centered Approach to Sexual Violence Cases: Best Regional Practices and Existing Challenges.”
During the event, the participants discussed efficient models of cooperation between the justice system, police, social services and the public sector in cases of sexual violence. Special emphasis was laid on implementing a victim-centered approach, which ensures respect for their dignity, reduces the risk of re-traumatization, and promotes an objective and fair investigation.
The event was organized by the Association of Women Lawyers of Ukraine “YurFem” within the framework of the project “Access to the system of support and protection in sexual and reproductive spheres for women and girls in Ukraine” with the support of the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine.
