A summer school titled «Effective and Trauma-Informed Teaching on Responding to Conflict-Related Sexual Violence», took place in Lviv. Andrii Udod, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs (DonSUIA), participated in the event.
Over the course of four days, the participants considered issues regarding victim-centered justice, international humanitarian and criminal law, the specifics of investigating offenses concerning conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), protection of victims’ rights, and prevention of re-victimization. Particular attention was paid to methods for integrating these topics into the educational process.
During practical sessions, the participants analyzed case law and procedural documents, discussed challenges associated with pre-trial investigations, and developed methodological approaches for teaching legal subjects.
Upon the training completion, the lecturers received certificates.
The Summer School was organized by the Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “JurFem” with the support of the Sigrid Rausing Trust.
