Within the framework of the projects portfolio of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine on regional recovery, a five-day training for trainers «Cybersecurity in Communities: Innovative Approaches to Crime Prevention and Human Rights Protection» supported by the Government of Switzerland, was completed at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The DonSUIA Rector, police colonel Serhii Vitvitskyi, addressed the participants of the event. In his speech, he emphasized: «Today we are releasing real digital security agents into communities – police officers from the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, ready to conduct modern trainings that will protect children, youth, and the elderly from cyber threats. This is an important step in strengthening national resilience and citizens’ trust in the police».
Over the course of five days, the participants mastered modern tools for countering cyber threats: recognizing social engineering, OSINT technology, using artificial intelligence in preventive police activities, and creating interactive training materials.
Particular attention was paid to the practical component – developing mini-projects for information campaigns, conducting simulated trainings for different audiences, and forming individual roadmaps for further work in communities.
Following the training, 26 police officers from the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, including community police officers, inspectors of the educational security service sectors, and human rights specialists of the MONP in the Sumy region, received certificates of successful completion of the program.
